Self-Regulation Program for Schools Adelaide | Yoga in Henley

Six weeks to build the skills. An audio library to keep them alive.

Moving progressively from body awareness to breath regulation, conscious attention and independent self-regulation.

A locally created, personally delivered program — from a mother of two and independent wellbeing educator to your school.

We teach internal regulation

The program develops children’s awareness of internal body signals, helping them notice changes in breathing, tension, heartbeat, energy and sensation before they become overwhelming. By learning to pay attention to what is happening inside the body, children become better able to recognise when they are becoming dysregulated and use appropriate strategies to respond.

Through Breath–Movement Coordination

Moving the body is one skill. Learning to use movement intentionally to regulate yourself is another. The program teaches children to coordinate slow, controlled movement with the breath, helping them reduce physical tension, regulate arousal and return to a more settled internal state. Over time, children learn that movement can be used not only for exercise, but also as a practical tool for self-regulation.

Utilising Expertise

Expertise Led by Cainara Burton, an experienced children’s yoga educator with over a decade of teaching children practical self-regulation skills through movement, breath, attention and body awareness. Cainara also holds a Bachelor of Psychology, bringing a strong understanding of behaviour, attention, emotional regulation and child development to the way the program is designed and delivered.

How we approach

Each lesson is paired with a guided audio practice, and a PDF reinforcing the sequence of body, breath and attention until self-regulation becomes a familiar, repeatable skill.

Self Regulation

Week one - Lower Body Awareness

Building awareness of the feet, knees, hips and lower back through movement, sensation and focused attention.

Outcome: Children learn to direct attention into the body and recognise physical sensations as information.

Week Two - Upper Body Awareness

Expanding body awareness through the spine, shoulders, neck, head, arms and hands while developing coordination and attention.

Outcome: Children expand interoceptive and proprioceptive awareness while learning where they hold tension.

Week Three - Body + Breath

Bringing upper and lower body awareness together and introducing how breathing can influence movement, attention and internal state.

Week four - Breath & Movement Regulation

Learning to coordinate movement and breath intentionally, using both as practical tools for settling, focusing and regulating the body.

Body + Breath + Mind

Integrating body and breath awareness while introducing attention skills: noticing thoughts, directing focus and recognising changes in internal state.

Week six - Integration

Bringing body, breath and attention together so children can recognise what they need and independently choose strategies to regulate themselves.

By the end of six weeks

recognise early body signals of activation;
use breathing intentionally;
use movement to support regulation;
direct and redirect attention;
identify strategies that work for them;
combine body, breath and attention independently.

BODY → BREATH → ATTENTION → SELF-REGULATION

First children learn to notice. Then they learn to influence. Finally, they learn to choose.

You Provide the Space. I Bring Everything Else.

Specialist teaching, yoga mats, professional sound equipment, guided practices, movement resources and sound-based relaxation tools — all provided as part of the program.

Professionally designed. Personally delivered. Fully equipped.

Why choose a specialist-led program instead of a larger wellbeing provider?

Because the person who designed the program is also the person working with your children.

I personally deliver every session, observe how students respond and adjust the movement, language and pacing as the program develops. I bring more than a decade of experience teaching children through yoga, movement and self-regulation, alongside a Bachelor of Psychology that informs the way I understand attention, behaviour and learning.

There is no handover between curriculum designer, trainer and facilitator. You work directly with me from beginning to end.

Where else do you teach?

I currently deliver yoga programs within a school environment and have spent more than a decade teaching children through movement, breath and mindfulness.

Alongside my school-based work, my yoga education content has reached more than 3 million views in Brazil, reflecting years of experience translating yoga and self-regulation concepts into clear, accessible teaching.

Combined with my Bachelor of Psychology, this gives the program a strong foundation in both practical teaching and behavioural understanding.

Is this another wellbeing program our teachers have to learn and deliver?

No.

I do the teaching. Your teachers can participate, observe and become familiar with the language and techniques without taking on another curriculum.

Throughout the six weeks I leave behind short, guided audio practices that teachers can simply play when the class needs to settle, transition, focus or reset.

I teach the skills. The children practise them. Your teachers keep the tools.

What if our students need something different from another school?

That is one of the advantages of working directly with me.

The core six-week progression remains consistent, but I can adapt the language, movement, pace and emphasis according to the age and needs of the students I am actually teaching.

After the first two weeks, I also gather feedback from participating teachers about the moments their students find most challenging. I use that information to create five additional short regulation audios for your school.

The program has structure, without treating every school as identical.

What remains after the six weeks are finished?

A skill the children have repeatedly practised — and a way for teachers to reactivate it.

Students progressively learn to use body awareness, breath and attention to recognise and influence their internal state. Teachers are left with the program’s guided audio library, including practices created around the needs identified within your school.

The goal is not for your students to depend on me.

It is for the skills I teach to become familiar enough that your teachers can call on them long after I have left.

That last answer is the one I would make visually strongest. It converts your small size from “I can’t compete with a huge company” into “the expert who created this actually walks into your classroom every week.”
